Buy and sell permitted online accounts with escrow

An online account can be more complicated to buy than a physical item. The seller may still control recovery details, a subscription may be non-transferable, and a third-party platform can restrict a transfer. Start with permission, ownership and the exact asset being offered, then agree an inspection and handover process.

Check whether the account can be transferred

Read the account provider’s current rules and confirm that the seller is entitled to transfer the asset. A listing on Village Market does not override those rules or prove ownership. Do not buy stolen accounts, identity documents, access obtained through compromise, or an account that cannot lawfully be transferred. Escrow does not guarantee the account provider will accept a change.

  • Identify the service and account type.
  • Confirm transfer permission and ownership.
  • Record included assets, restrictions and remaining subscriptions.

Specify the handover instead of buying a screenshot

Agree what the buyer must receive: permitted administrative control, associated assets, documented subscriptions and the ability to manage authorised recovery methods. Screenshots of followers, revenue or account age are not a guarantee of future performance. Check claims through lawful evidence and never ask either party to share another person’s identity, private messages or banking credentials.

Fund and inspect within the agreement

Use the platform escrow flow, confirm that the transaction is funded, and perform the agreed checks before release. Define a realistic inspection period and the evidence needed if access differs from the listing. Keep correspondence in the transaction. An account can face later provider enforcement, so do not treat the release process as permanent protection from every future loss.

Selling an account or digital asset

Describe transfer limitations, actual account condition, the handover steps and what is excluded. Do not claim a platform partnership or guaranteed earnings without evidence. Publish an accurate listing, respond to relevant questions and agree terms before funding. Available inventory changes; browse current listings rather than assuming a particular account type is always available.

Common questions

Does escrow make a prohibited account sale acceptable?

No. Provider rules and applicable requirements still apply. Only proceed with a permitted, authorised transfer.

Can the seller recover an account after sale?

Recovery risk depends on the provider and handover. Check permitted recovery controls and understand remaining risks before release.

Are all listed accounts guaranteed?

No. Review the listing, evidence, seller and terms. A listing is not a guarantee of future account status or earnings.

Agree the details before you pay

Review the current fees, eligibility and available methods in your account. Keep the agreed terms and use the correct transaction flow.
