### **Refund Policy of EscrowVillage**
**Effective Date: November, 2024.
At **EscrowVillage**, we are committed to providing a secure and transparent platform for all your transactions. Our goal is to ensure that both buyers and sellers have a positive experience, and we strive to resolve issues quickly and fairly. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued, the process for requesting a refund, and other important terms.
Please read this Refund Policy carefully before making any transactions. By using our services, you agree to abide by the terms outlined below.
---
### **1. General Principles**
Escrow transactions are designed to provide security for both buyers and sellers. Funds are held in escrow by **EscrowVillage** until both parties fulfill their commitments. Refunds may only be issued under certain conditions, as outlined in this policy.
**EscrowVillage** will mediate disputes and consider refund requests based on the following principles:
- Funds will only be released to the seller when the buyer confirms receipt of the product or service and is satisfied.
- If a dispute arises, **EscrowVillage** will evaluate the situation and, where necessary, issue a refund to the buyer or release funds to the seller, based on available evidence.
---
### **2. Refund Eligibility**
Refunds may be considered in the following cases:
#### **A. Disputes Between Buyer and Seller**
If there is a dispute between the buyer and seller, **EscrowVillage** will investigate the issue and determine whether a refund is appropriate. Some common reasons for disputes that may lead to a refund include:
- **Non-delivery of Product/Service:** If the seller fails to deliver the agreed-upon product or service as per the transaction terms, the buyer may be eligible for a refund.
- **Product/Service Not as Described:** If the product or service delivered does not meet the description or expectations set by the seller during the transaction, the buyer may request a refund.
- **Fraudulent Activity:** If there is evidence of fraudulent activity by either the buyer or seller, we may issue a refund to the affected party.
#### **B. Technical Issues**
In some cases, refunds may be granted if there are technical issues with the platform or transaction process that prevent the successful completion of the trade, including:
- Incorrect transfer of funds (e.g., funds deducted but not received by the seller or buyer).
- Errors in processing the payment or currency swap.
- Technical failures that prevent the transaction from being completed correctly.
#### **C. Compliance Violations**
Refunds may be issued if the transaction violates applicable laws, such as money laundering, fraud, or other illegal activities. In such cases, **EscrowVillage** may refund the buyer and/or cancel the transaction.
---
### **3. Non-Refundable Transactions**
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- **Completed Transactions:** Once funds have been released to the seller and the transaction is marked as complete by both parties, it is considered final, and no refunds will be provided.
- **Transaction Fees:** Any service fees charged by **EscrowVillage** for facilitating the escrow transaction are non-refundable. These fees are clearly disclosed before completing the transaction.
- **Currency Swap Transactions:** Once a currency exchange (e.g., **Naira to USDT** or **USDT to Naira**) has been completed, refunds will not be issued unless there is an error or issue with the transaction.
- **Buyer’s Remorse:** Refunds will not be issued for reasons such as buyer’s remorse or change of mind. Once a transaction is completed and funds are released, it is final.
---
### **4. Requesting a Refund**
If you believe you are eligible for a refund, you must submit a request through the **EscrowVillage** platform. The process is as follows:
1. **Log in to Your Account:** You must log into your account on **EscrowVillage** to access the dispute resolution process.
2. **Initiate a Dispute (if applicable):** If you are a buyer, you can initiate a dispute within the platform. If you are a seller, you can also respond to a dispute initiated by the buyer.
3. **Provide Supporting Documentation:** To support your refund request, you may be asked to provide evidence, such as:
- Screenshots or documentation of the transaction.
- Communication between the buyer and seller.
- Proof of delivery or non-delivery.
- Other relevant information that helps verify your claim.
4. **Review by **EscrowVillage**:** Once your request is submitted, **EscrowVillage** will review the case and make a decision based on the evidence provided by both parties. This may take up to 10 business days.
5. **Resolution:** After reviewing the case, **EscrowVillage** will either approve or deny the refund request and notify you of the decision. If a refund is granted, it will be processed as soon as possible.
---
### **5. Refund Processing Time**
If a refund is approved, it will be processed within 10 business days. The exact time for the funds to be returned to the buyer’s account may vary depending on the payment method and banking institution. Please note the following:
- **Bank Transfers:** Refunds to bank accounts may take up to 5-7 business days to process.
- **Cryptocurrency Transactions:** Refunds for cryptocurrency transactions may take longer to process, depending on blockchain network speeds and other factors.
---
### **6. Fees and Charges for Refunds**
Refunds may be subject to processing fees. If a refund is requested and approved, any applicable transaction fees or processing charges will be deducted from the refunded amount. These fees are clearly disclosed at the time of the transaction and may include:
- **Escrow Service Fees**: These fees are non-refundable once a transaction has been completed.
- **Payment Gateway Fees:** Depending on the method of payment (e.g., credit card, bank transfer, cryptocurrency), transaction fees charged by third-party providers may apply and may not be refunded.
---
### **7. Refunds for Disputes**
In the event of a dispute, **EscrowVillage** will work with both parties to mediate and reach a fair resolution. If **EscrowVillage** determines that a refund is warranted based on the circumstances of the dispute, the refund will be processed according to the following guidelines:
- **Buyer’s Refund:** If a dispute results in a refund to the buyer, the funds will be returned to the buyer’s original payment method.
- **Seller’s Refund:** If the dispute is resolved in favor of the seller and they are entitled to the funds, the funds will be released to the seller’s designated account.
---
